Edith Burns, MDEdith Burns, MD

Dr. Burns joined the faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin in September of 1998. She is Associate Professor of Medicine at MCW and Director of Ambulatory Geriatrics at the Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Milwaukee. Dr. Burns is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Medical School where she completed her medicine residency.

Dr. Burns completed her fellowship training in Geriatrics and Immunology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Additionally, she completed fellowship training in Behavioral Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Burns' research interests include immunology and aging. She is currently the Co-PI on an NIH funded project entitled, "Causes of Lean Body Mass Loss in Aging Men and Women."

Dr. Burns is the Program Director for the Medicine-Geriatrics Combined Residency Program in partnership with the Reynolds Foundation Initiatives in Geriatrics Education.
