Help Recruit Graduate Students
As Alumni you can be an extremely valuable resource when it comes to recruiting more of the countries best students to enroll in an academic program at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS).
Each year the Graduate School sends representatives to dozens of college campuses across the county. The goal is to identify faculty and administrative staff in the sciences that have a pulse on their current students and specifically those that want to continue their education and obtain their MS, MA, MPH or PhD. From there, the Graduate School works to find those students and raise their awareness to all the programs that exist at the GSBS. These campus visits provide opportunities to interact with our off campus constituents and make a connection with enough faculty, advisors and students that we can create a bridge between the two campuses. The most difficult aspect to this relationship is not knocking on the door and introducing the GSBS to a faculty member, rather the most difficult aspect to creating this bridge is sustaining the relationship.
You can help in the recruitment process by doing a few things that can make a world of difference:
- Keep your information updated in the alumni database
- If you are currently a faculty member, postdoctoral fellow or administrative staff member at a college or university and/or can identify faculty or staff on your campus that can help us recruit students to the GSBS, please send us that information
- Participate in a graduate school event on your campus on behalf of MCW
- Share your success stories with our current and future graduate students by agreeing to have us post information to the website and in collateral materials
