Project Goal Statement: This project aims to improve the health of women in Wisconsin by strengthening the primary and secondary prevention of intimate partner violence (domestic violence) in the health care system.   The project will develop, implement and evaluate a model training program that will help medical clinics and emergency departments establish a sustainable intervention for intimate partner violence.  The project will build upon the extensive prior work of the partners conducting medical education in domestic violence and domestic violence advocacy to develop a state-of-the-art intervention model.  While much prior work has focused upon training individual health professionals, this project will focus upon multiple levels of intervention to assure that intervention strategies are implemented and sustained in a cost-effective manner.
