Project Goal Statement: This project aims to reduce the prevalence of obesity and overweight in Ashland, Bayfield, Iron, Price and Sawyer counties. The project uses a multi-faceted approach and evidence-based interventions to change the social norms to support good nutrition and increase physical activity. Each county will develop a comprehensive community action plan that coordinates with local school districts, community centers, churches, employers, and local government to improve fitness and increase nutrition. Ongoing evaluation is an integral part of this project.
