Friends of the Medical College of Wisconsin
The Friends of the Medical College of Wisconsin is an organization of volunteers from the College, affiliated institutions and the community. The Friends' activities support the charitable, educational, scientific and community service activities of the Medical College and its affiliates.
Since its inception, the Friends have contributed more than $1,022,000 in monetary gifts and equipment to the Medical College and its affiliates.

Last year, the Friends contributed more than 10,000 hours of service to the Medical College and its affiliates. Here is a list of some of opportunities to become involved:

Fundraising Activities
Dedicated fundraising efforts make it possible to support our service to the Medical College. Profits from the Friends' Cafe is the main source of income to support our endeavors. The Cafe is managed and staffed by volunteers.

Support Activities
The magnitude and diversity of Friends' support reflects the varied interests and talents of our organization's membership. In 2008-09, the Friends of the Medical College provided the following support:
1. Awarded two $10,000 Scholarships for Academic Excellence.
2. Provided $7,000 in Student Travel Awards enabling College representation at national meetings.
3. Supported Summer Research Fellowships with $11,000.
4. Presented a $1,000 Outstanding Dissertation Award and a $500 Second Place Award.
5. Sponsored Service Awards of $1,000 to graduating students.
6. Supported the Student Representative Travel Fund with $3,000.
7. Hosted a Student Luncheon.
