Board of Trustees Biographies:
Agustin (Gus) A. Ramirez is Chairman of HUSCO International, a position he had held since a management buyout of the company in 1985 – which he led. Under his leadership, HUSCO revenues have grown 15 times and the company has become a global leader in providing hydraulic and electro-hydraulic controls to major off-highway and automotive equipment manufacturers. The company’s global footprint includes major manufacturing and service presence in the United States, Europe, Brazil, China and India. R&D facilities are located in the UK, India and two in the United States.
Mr. Ramirez serves, or has served, on the following boards of directors: American Transmission Company; Waukesha YMCA; Waukesha United Way; United Community Center; National Fluid Power Association; Greater Milwaukee Committee; President’s Advisory Board at Georgia Tech; Greater Milwaukee Foundation; Milwaukee School of Engineering Board of Regents and Schools That Can Milwaukee.
Mr. Ramirez was born in Puerto Rico, the son of a US Army Colonel. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (1968) and Master of Science degree (1969) in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard University (1974).
