The list includes electronic books by collections except for featured titles. All electronic books, with the exception of American Hospital Directory, are available to MCW, FH, and CHW users located off-campus by logging into the MCW Libraries’ proxy server.

AccessEmergency Medicine
This resource provides answers to a broad spectrum of cases encountered in any emergency department. AccessEmergency Medicine includes textbooks, procedures, instructional videos, image library, integrated drug database, CORD cases, and Q&A for self-assessment and review.

AccessMedicine
AccessMedicine is an innovative online resource that provides access to books and services for physicians, students, and health professionals who need immediate access to authoritative and current medical data for clinical decision making. Includes Goodman & Gilman's The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics, Harrison's Online, Hurst's The Heart, Scriver's OMMBID, LANGE Educational Library, over 150 cases from the Lange Case Files series plus thousands of images and illustrations, interactive self-assessment, time-saving diagnostic and point-of-care tools, and the ability to view from and download content to a mobile device.

Access Pediatrics
AccessPediatrics™ from McGraw-Hill is an integrated online resource with a broad range of content that covers the entire span of pediatric practice, from neonatology through adolescent medicine. Organized around a set of Core Topics developed by an advisory board of renowned pediatricians.

AccessSurgery 
A comprehensive resource for surgery education that provides textbooks, videos, animations, a differential diagnosis tool, interactive board review, downloadable PDA content, and more.

American Hospital Directory - Password Required
Provides online data for over 6,000 hospitals. The database of information about hospitals is built from both public and private sources including Medicare claims data (MEDPAR and OPPS), hospital cost reports, and other files obtained from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). AHD is not affiliated with the American Hospital Association (AHA) and is not a source for AHA Data. Free services available to all. Professional services available to MCW only. Password required. ClinicalKey
Clinical Insight Engine from Elsevier featuring over 1,000 books, 500 journals, 13,000 medical and procedural videos, millions of images, content from First Consult, and much more. Colloquium Digital Library of Life Sciences
Includes 50 – 100 page monographs on research topics written by leading scientists worldwide. Subjects cover a wide life sciences spectrum from core areas in cellular and molecular biology to current research in neuroscience.

Encyclopedia of Bioethics
The Encyclopedia of Bioethics, Third Edition addresses basic concepts and explains the interrelationships between ethical principles and the demands of scientific and technological innovations. The Encyclopedia is a complete revision of the Dartmouth Medal-winning set first published in 1995. The Third Edition presents 457 articles from over 500 experts plus a large collection of codes and oaths across all the healthcare professions, as well as research ethics guidelines and regulations. A print version of the 5-volume set is also available in the Todd Wehr Library Reference Collection. The call number is WB 13 E56278 2004. First Aid Test Prep
Includes peer to peer medical review guides provided on the McGraw-Hill eBook Library platform for preparing for USMLE, clerkship, and specialty board exams.

Foundations in Wisconsin Online
The directory covers every active grant making foundation in the state of Wisconsin. The foundation profiles include contact information, total assets, grants paid, and areas of interest. Click on the Member Login button to access the directory.

Handbook of Antimicrobial Therapy
This handbook contains information on the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases and selected articles previously published in Treatment Guidelines with updates from The Medical Letter.  Access is provided via The Medical Letter Institutional Version. Updated every other year.

Harrison's Online
Electronic version of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine is the most recent edition of this highly respected text and is located in AccessMedicine. Also includes online only chapters, emergency medicine photo gallery, grand rounds multimedia lectures with CE credit, and self-assessment questions. Updated continuously.

LWW Health Library Premium Collection
Provides access to basic science, physical examination, epidemiology, and ethics titles published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.  Includes supplementary content such as images, videos, animations, cases, and interactive question banks.  Some of the supplementary content is Flash-based which is not compatible with Apple mobile devices.

Pediatric Nephrology
The sixth edition has been endorsed by the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) as the standard global reference text in the field of childhood kidney disease. The vendor changed to SpringerLink from Books@Ovid.

PsychiatryOnline
Online access to DSM-IV-TR Library and a collection of books, journals, and self-assessment tools from American Psychiatric Publishing, Inc. Unlimited PDA downloads.

Red Book Online
Features the complete text of the Red Book, the essential pediatric infectious diseases reference, plus a full library of over 2,000 related visual images, updated news, e-mail alerts, and more.

Safari Books Online
Premier information source for leading-edge computer technologies. Contains information on databases, networking, operating systems, programming, and the Internet (Web, Java, and XML). Select business reference books are also included. A current list of titles included in the MCW Libraries' subscription can be searched and browsed in Safari by choosing "View All Titles."

ScienceDirect E-Books
Includes monographic series and individual e-books in basic and clinical sciences published by Elsevier such as Encyclopedia of the Eye, The Senses, Methods in Enzymology, and Assisted Ventilation of the Neonate.

Scriver's OMMBID: The Online Metabolic & Molecular Bases of Inherited Disease
A compendium of genetic disorders and information from the entire field of genetics. OMMBID provides the latest knowledge on the molecular and metabolic underpinnings of a growing list of inherited diseases, as well as updates on pathophysiology and treatment. A link to OMMBID is also available via AccessMedicine.

Springer Protocols
Includes protocols from Humana’s book series Methods in Molecular Biology, Methods in Molecular Medicine, Methods in Biotechnology, Methods in Pharmacology and Toxicology, and Neuromethods, as well as a large number of Laboratory Handbooks, such as The Biomethods Handbook, The Proteomics Handbook, and the Springer Laboratory Manuals.

STAT!Ref
Contains the full-text of primary care, internal medicine clerkship, nursing, and health science writing texts. Also includes Stedman's Medical Dictionary, MedCalc 3000, the ICD-9-CM (v.1-3), and the Ingenix CPT® with RVUs Data File.

Thieme Clinical Collection
Includes titles from medical specialties such as internal medicine, neurosurgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, and radiology. Register for an account to create notes, bookmarks, and more.

Thieme E-Book Library
Full-text titles from Thieme’s Flexibook and Color Atlas series covering anatomy, basic sciences, clinical sciences & radiology. The product is a resource for learning, review, and research in medicine and the life sciences.

Bartleby.com: Great Books Online
Bartleby gives full text access to many literary classics. Included are reference, verse, fiction, and non-fiction works. If you are looking for that “perfect quotation,” check out this site.

Cell Signalling Biology
Provides researchers, teachers and students with a resource to describe the biology of cell signalling. The emerging information on cell signalling pathways is integrated and presented within the context of specific cell types and processes.

FreeBooks4Doctors
FreeBooks4Doctors promotes free access to medical resources on the Internet. It currently links to over 360 free medical books and also provides access to free medical journals and medical podcasts.

ipl2: Online Texts
A wide variety of free, full-text resources on the Web. ipl2 is the result of a merger of the Internet Public Library (IPL) and the Librarians' Internet Index (LII). The site is hosted by Drexel University's College of Information Science & Technology, and a consortium of colleges and universities with programs in information science are involved in developing and maintaining the ipl2.

MedicalStudent.com
Links to medical textbooks and other full text sources on the Internet on a variety of medical subjects from anatomy to urology. Also contains links to case studies, patient simulations, medical journals and MEDLINE, professional societies and organizations of medicine, handheld computer resources, patient education, SearchingPediatrics.com, and Pediatric Commons.

National Academies Press
The National Academies Press (NAP) was created by the National Academies to publish the reports issued by the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Research Council. NAP publishes over 200 books a year in the areas of science, engineering, and health. Hundreds of the electronic versions of the books can be downloaded for free by the chapter or the entire book.

NCBI Bookshelf
This is a growing collection of biomedical books provided by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) in collaboration with authors and publishers. The books can be searched individually or as a collection.

The Online Books Page
This site facilitates access to 40,000+ books and serials that are freely readable over the Internet for personal, noncommercial use. The books and serials can be browsed by author, title, or Library of Congress subject categories. The site also includes a book search feature, archives and indexes, and foreign language texts.
