MCW Libraries anticipates that the cost to maintain the current journal subscriptions we have for next year will exceed our budget. While exact estimates will not be available until early in 2011, the Faculty Library Committee and the Library have prepared a list of journals to be considered for cancellation. If we cancel the journals, new issues will not be available either electronically or in print in MCW Libraries’ collection. The journals were chosen either because they were used infrequently (less than 30 times in 2009), or the cost of the subscription divided by the number of uses was high (more than $30 per use in 2009), or both.
We invite feedback on the suggested cancellations. The journals being considered for cancellation are below. Those journals that are available electronically are linked to the journal's site. Those journals that are only available in print form in one of the three MCW Libraries are linked to the library's online catalog record.
