- What is Library Remote Storage (LRS)?
Library Remote Storage is an off-campus site which houses the majority of the Todd Wehr Library's print journal collection. Moving the print journals off-campus in 2012 allowed MCW to create an active learning classroom in support of the Discovery curriculum.
- How do I know what materials are in the LRS?
When you search for print materials in MCWCAT, the library online catalog, the material will have a location of "Library Remote Storage."
- How do I get items from the LRS?
Requests for materials at the LRS would be made via the Library on Request system. Ordering information is here. Articles requested will be scanned and delivered electronically via the Library on Request system to the requester.
- Will I be charged if I need something from LRS?
Scanning and electronic delivery of articles for Medical College of Wisconsin, Children's Hospital or Froedtert Hospital faculty, staff, and students is provided at no charge. Charges apply for other users. Complete pricing information is available.
- How long does it take to get items from LRS?
Service is provided on regular business days (Monday-Friday except holidays). Regular service requests will be delivered within three business days. Rush requests received by noon will be delivered by 4:30 pm the same business day. Rush requests received after noon will be provided by 2:00 pm the next business day. Limit of three rush requests per person per day. Limit of 15 rush requests per person per month. Limit of five requests of any type per person per day. Additional requests filled as time permits.
- Is the LRS open to the public?
No, it is not. Library staff will retrieve and scan items as needed.
