South Display Case
The MCW Libraries are welcoming the class of 2018 to campus in several ways (check out our online welcome message), including this display! School pride is highlighted, along with resources for making a successful transition to medical school.
North Display Case
For almost 30 years, in her role as Cover Editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association, Marie Therese Southgate, MD selected the front covers of JAMA and wrote the highly insightful, lyrical essays which have made her famous among physicians across the U.S. and around the world. Southgate earned her MD degree from Marquette University School of Medicine (now the Medical College of Wisconsin) in 1960, one of only three women in her graduating class. (The idea for this display was inspired by Dr. Joseph Kerschner, Dean of the Medical School, as the result of an essay he shared with the MCW community in a recent "Monday Morning Coffee with the Dean" communication.)
Inside Display Case
Ever wonder how the first year of medical school today compares with the first year of medical school 100 years ago? Check out MCW Libraries’ inside display case to view comparisons of MCW in 2014 to the Marquette University School of Medicine in 1914.
