JoVE: MCW Libraries Resource of the Month for March
JoVE, the Journal of Visualized Experiments, is a video journal indexed in PubMed/MEDLINE. The journal consists of peer reviewed video-articles documenting techniques and protocols in biological, medical, chemical, and physical research.
Videos are 10-15 minutes long and provide a detailed step-by-step description of the protocol to enable another scientist to easily reproduce the technique. Each video is accompanied by a written component, which contains introductory remarks, the protocol, representative results, discussion, and references.
The Medical College of Wisconsin Libraries subscribes to the JoVE General section. The JoVE Basic Protocols content is free, but users must create a free account in JoVE to access it. There are several additional sections to which the library currently does not subscribe: JoVE Neuroscience, JoVE Immunology and Infection, JoVE Clinical and Translational Medicine, and JoVE Bioengineering. If you would like the library to subscribe to additional subsections, please e-mail the library at firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate which section is important to you.
JoVE is available from the MCW Libraries E-Journals List and MCWCAT, the library online catalog.
