VisualDx Now Available
VisualDx - a unique mobile and desktop application for diagnostic accuracy, patient engagement, and medical education – is now available from the Medical College of Wisconsin Libraries. All Medical College of Wisconsin, Children’s Hospital, and Froedtert Health faculty, students, and staff can access this powerful tool featuring more than 25,000 medical images and specialist-level knowledge to help diagnose, treat, and manage over 1,200 visually identifiable diseases, drug reactions, and infections.
In just seconds, VisualDx allows you to visually validate a patient’s diagnosis, quickly access next steps for management and patient care, see the differential as you enter patient findings, and provide on-the-spot patient education with real medical images a patient can relate to.
Images from VisualDx may be used in presentations. Guidelines for using images in educational and non-commercial settings are available online.
Additionally, VisualDx can be integrated within UpToDate. Links identified with this icon in UpToDate will open value-added content within VisualDx. The links will be available in UpToDate soon.
VisualDx is linked from MCW Libraries’ Electronic Resources page, Clinical Resources page, and the library’s proxy server.
Free mobile access for iPads, iPhones, and Android devices is available. VisualDx was rated a “Top Five Medical App” at Harvard and UPENN Medical Schools. Instructions for getting the mobile device are online. To learn more about VisualDx, view the product overview.
