Todd Wehr Library Displays for June
Todd Wehr Library's three display cases are highlighting a variety of topics for the month of June. Stop by the library and check them out today!
Inside Display - Milwaukee Area Bike Paths & Recreation
Get outside this summer and discover Milwaukee! The inside display case features a map of Milwaukee County’s Oak Leaf Trail which shows the major parks, beaches and public golf courses in the county. The Oak Leaf trail has over 100 miles of paved trails for hikers, bikers, skaters and runners.
South Display - Epidemics
The South display covers epidemics in history, from historical times to the presents day. Details on eleven different diseases are included, along with a look at the current controversy over the pathogen that caused the Black Death.
North Display - Health Literacy
According to MedlinePlus, "Health literacy is the ability to understand health information and to use that information to make good decisions about your health and medical care. Health information can overwhelm even people with advanced literacy skills. About one third of the adult population in the United States has limited health literacy." The North display currently features information on health literacy, including online resources, statistics on health literacy, and recent MCW research and projects on the topic of health literacy.
Books in any of the display cases are available to check out. Please contact the MCW Libraries for additional information on the resources we can provide on these topics or if you have any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org or (414) 955-8302.
