Improvements to Ovid!

After receiving feedback from searchers, Ovid made improvements to the search interface. The changes include:
  • Annotations can be exported to any citation manager, such as EndNote or RefWorks.
  • The search screen no longer "jumps". The search box appears above the search results set.

About Personal Logins

 

Ovid Browser Requirements

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 of higher
  • Netscape Navigator 8.1 or higher
  • Safari
  • Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or higher 

Additional information for Mac users
Microsoft no longer supports Internet Explorer for the Mac. Therefore, Ovid is unable to provide support for their browser. Also, Ovid is not compatible with Apple Safari. You will need to use Mozilla Firefox or Netscape.

An Ovid personal account is no longer required for most users. Users connecting to Ovid from the MCW Network (MCW, CHW and FH users) do not need a personal account.

MCW users that connect to Ovid from home using an Internet Service Provider such as Road Runner or AOL will be able to connect, without a personal account, through the libraries' proxy server. CHW and FH employees that wish to use Ovid from home will need personal accounts.

A personal account is required if:

  • You would like to create a permanent profile for document ordering (the document ordering feature works without a personal account)
  • You would like to save searches
  • You would like to use AutoAlerts
