Department of Medicine seeks participants for
MCW Wellness Boot Camp
On August 2nd, MCW Wellness began an eight week Wellness Boot Camp campaign. Goals to achieve during a two week period will focus on one of four areas – nutrition, fitness, stress management and self care. Points earned for accomplishing the specific goals will be tallied and employees who earn the most points during the challenge are awarded a prize.
The Department of Medicine typically has the greatest number of participants on campus. In the past, DOM faculty and staff members have participated in a weight loss challenge most recently, a physical activity competition. During this challenge, six medicine teams comprised of 60 individuals logged their physical activity during a eight week period. With over 80 teams involved campus-wide, four medicine teams finished in the top 20 and Medicine Team 3 placed 3rd overall!
Due in part to our department’s participation, MCW received the Gold Award for workplace wellness from the Wellness Council of America. Thank you to all previous participants – your hard work is appreciated. Remember, physical activity can assist in extending your life and the benefits are immeasurable. Please consider joining the new Boot Camp campaign. To register, please contact Jessica Bevan firstname.lastname@example.org.
