Ayman Saad, MD

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Saad joined the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2008 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Neoplastic Diseases and Related Disorders. He obtained his medical degree in Ain Shams University, Egypt in 1994, Dr. Saad did an internship and residency in Radiation and Clinical Oncology in Ain Shams University. He then was as an assistant lecturer in Ain Shams University School of Medicine till 2000.

Dr. Saad was a clinical research fellow (2000-2002) at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Maryland/Maryland General Hospital in 2005. He finished a Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship in West Virginia University in 2008. During the fellowship, he worked in the cancer biology research laboratory investigating the development of new targeted therapy for multiple myeloma. He authored many journal publications, national meeting presentations, and book chapters.

In 2007, he received the Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He also received Margaret Albrink Research Award in 2007 from West Virginia University School of Medicine. Dr. Saad was honored as Fellow of the Year in 2007 and 2008 by the Division of Hematology and Oncology in West Virginia University School of Medicine.

Dr. Saad specializes in the treatment of patients with lymphoid and plasma cell disorders.
His main research interest is focused on the development of new therapeutic modality that targets the interaction between myeloma cells and microenvironment.
