are offered a variety of opportunities in clinical, translational and basic research. These opportunities are available at Children’s, within other divisions in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College, and/or within the Department of Neurology and the Neuroscience Center.

Additional Benefits of the Program

Child Neurology Fellows receive 3 weeks of vacation and 1 week of educational leave each year. Each Fellow has an educational stipend that they manage. It may be used for meetings, journals or other educational expenses. Third year fellows attend additional scientific meetings, based upon research presentation relevance.

First accredited in the 1990, the Medical College of Wisconsin Child Neurology Fellowship Program received five years of full accreditation in 2012 by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Affiliated with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, our Neuroscience Program has been ranked among the top 50 national centers by U.S.News & World Report. Additionally, the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) has recognized the Medical College of Wisconsin Pediatric Epilepsy Center as a Level 4 Center which recognizes our exceptional facilities and capabilities in medical and surgical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy.

There is guaranteed funding for two new child neurology fellows each year to be fully supported throughout the three-year program. Additional years of research training, including application for the Masters of Science in Clinical Research program, are available for highly qualified candidates.
