Welcome from Dr. Cheryl Stucky
- Neuroscience Doctoral Program

Dear srospective students,

Hello!  I am glad you visited our Neuroscience Doctoral Program website at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  I invite you to browse our list of NDP faculty and department websites to see if our research areas match your interests.  Our prospective NDP students typically have a strong background in the sciences, particularly biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, psychology or neuroscience. Our students usually have strong GPAs and GREs and most have research experience related to neuroscience.  If you are excited about a small program with ample mentoring from multiple faculty in a healthy, close-knit scientific community, I strongly encourage you to apply.  We typically have a class size of 4-5 students and I personally mentor each student through their first year. We will get to know one another through journal clubs, short research presentations after rotations, school-wide poster days, and social “science” events including all neuroscience students and faculty.  Our PhD students receive a generous stipend ($27,863) which covers the cost of living in the lovely city of Milwaukee, full, excellent health care benefits, and full tuition. There are no teaching responsibilities linked to your stipend, allowing you to fully focus on your research.  I would be happy to answer questions about our program!
