The Department of Neurosurgery provides a full range of neurosurgical services for children and adults at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin. These services include both surgical and non-surgical methods involving disorders in the skull, brain, spine, spinal cord, spinal nerves and peripheral nerves.
Our well-renowned surgical team treats traumatic injuries to the brain and spinal cord, removes tumors of the brain and spinal cord, repairs blood vessel abnormalities, manages injuries to the bone structure of the skull and spine, and repairs herniated spinal column discs.
The Medical College of Wisconsin is located on the western edge of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Care for neurosurgery patients is provided at Froedtert Hospital, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center.
SpineCare, an outpatient clinic of Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin, is dedicated to the transdisciplinary care management of spine disorders. Transdisciplinary care means “across disciplines,” so the SpineCare team includes board-certified and fellowship-trained experts from a variety of specialties who work together to meet each patient’s individual needs- all in one place. We specialize in treating patients with neck and back pain. We emphasize early intervention and offer a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to spine care. Our goal is to encourage and early, safe return to your routine activities and to help you prevent long-term disability from back and neck pain. SpineCare offers a unique personalized approach, with the patient at the center of car. We see the patient as a critical member of that team, and we ask our patients to be actively involved in their own treatment and long-term success. SpineCare can help you make dramatic, lifelong changes in your spine health. While our approach is very effective, it may not be appropriate for everyone. Some patients with chronic pain may not benefit as dramatically from our unique approach to spine care. Still, we believe we have an obligation to help each patient find the right care, and we will make referrals as appropriate.
