Dr. Alexanian is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery located at the Neuroscience Research Laboratories at the Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He also has secondary faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor of Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy in the Department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy of the Medical College of Wisconsin. He specializes in stem cell plasticity and regeneration of the central nervous system.
