The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has a number of laboratories supporting the research of gynecologic oncology and reproductive medicine. Dr. David Bick's and Dr. Eduardo Lau's lab is located in the Human and Molecular Genetic Center (HMGC). They work with Estil Strawn, MD and Paul Robb, MD advancing the study of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD). Dr. Janet Rader's lab, also located in the in the Human and Molecular Genetic Center (HMGC), concentrates on identifying genes involved in the progression of cervical cancer through the analysis of molecular changes in preinvasive and invasive neoplasias of the cervix, in addition to identifying host genetic susceptibility polymorphisms in the progression of disease.
