Medical School Palliative Care Education Project
This project, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (Cohort 1) and the Y.C. Ho/Helen and Michael Chiang Foundation (Cohorts 2 and 3), is designed to help US medical schools develop both required and elective palliative care educational experiences along with faculty development. Medical schools applied through a competitive peer review process to participate in the 18 month project. The selected medical schools include: Louisville, Baylor, Emory, Northwestern, Oregon and Northeast Ohio (Cohort 1); University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, UMDNJ School of Osteopathic Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine (Cohort 2). Cohort 3 selection to be completed in early Fall 2009.
