After obtaining a B.S. in Cognitive Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Kroft obtained his M.D. at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1991. He subsequently completed a 5-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Northwestern University, which included a credentialing year exclusively in hematopathology. This was followed by a formal, 1-year hematopathology fellowship at the University of Michigan. He served on the faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for eight years, during which time his practice was exclusively devoted to hematopathology. Dr. Kroft moved to the Medical College of Wisconsin in September, 2005, and assumed the duties of Director of Hematopathology. He is boarded in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and subspecialty boarded in Hematopathology.
Dr. Kroft has broad interests in the field of hematopathology, ranging from benign red blood cell disorders to malignant disease. His research and practice interests included the application of specialized ancillary techniques, in particular flow cytometry, to diagnostic, clinical, and biologic issues related to hematologic disorders.
