Saul Suster, MD

Professor and Chairman, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

Dr. Suster serves as the Chair of the Pathology Department and is responsible for the oversight of all clinical service, administrative, teaching and research activities carried out by the department. In addition to a strong emphasis in enhancing the quality of the clinical patient services provided by the department, Dr. Suster’s vision for the pathology department includes developing a strong infrastructure for developing translational research in pathology, in particular as it relates to cancer research, and in creating an outstanding teaching program both at the graduate and postgraduate level within the department.

  • Characterization of tumors of the thoracic cavity including lung, mediastinal and pleural neoplasms
  • Tumors of the thyroid gland and other endocrine organs
  • Pathology and biology of tumors of soft tissue and skin
