Like several other residents in our program I grew up in the Milwaukee area, and I'm happy to be staying here for my residency.   I didn't discover pathology until late in medical school but so far it's been a great fit for me, both as a specialty and at our program.  We have a good balance of interesting and everyday cases, plenty of time to work one-on-one with faculty, and a good group of residents overall.  I also think it speaks to the strength of our program that so many medical students from MCW choose to stay here for residency.

I graduated from Marquette University in 2006 with a major in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in English.   Despite having lived in Wisconsin for so long, I have ventured out of state a few times: I studied abroad in Ireland during college, went on cross-country camping trips with my family growing up, and still enjoy traveling when I can.  Milwaukee is a great place to call home though; there are plenty of county parks with trails to run and bike on, concerts and festivals throughout the summer, and a variety of great local restaurants and coffee shops.  Outside of work I like to spend time with my husband and our families, run, cook and bake, and eat more Kopp's custard than I probably should.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about pathology, our program, or living in Milwaukee!
