The Medical College of Wisconsin's commitment to public and community health extends throughout the College and is integrated across its priorities in research, education, clinical care and community partnerships. More than 150 faculty work with over 200 community organizations to identify health needs and create solutions to Wisconsin's greatest areas of health risk. Working with the Dean, the
Senior Associate Dean for Public and Community Health
provides overall leadership for public and community health at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The
Council on Public and Community Health
, chaired by the Senior Associate Dean, is comprised of fifteen senior faculty and staff leaders.
Accomplishments
Over 100 public and community health programs receive more than $15M awarded in external funding per year
Several faculty nationally recognized for their expertise and accomplishments in public and community health
Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program
awards $5-7M for community-academic partnerships annually
More than 100 peer-reviewed publications and presentations annually disseminate our public and community health research and programs, both regionally and nationally
Association of American Medical Colleges' (AAMC) Outstanding Community Service Award.
