Dr. Charles Harkins was in the private practice of otolaryngology in Milwaukee for 14 years prior to joining the full-time faculty at the Medical College in 2002. During that time, he was actively involved in the education of residents and students as a member of the Medical College clinical faculty.
He also served as the ear, nose, and throat consultant for the Southern Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled for eight of those years. He is board-certified in Otolaryngology and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Harkins provides specialized care for the entire family, from infants to senior citizens, over the full spectrum of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery. He has developed a very busy pediatric practice, thus allowing him to develop relationships with the entire family.
He enjoys the interaction with patients that leads to a mutual understanding of the disorders they have and the ways available to treat them. Treatment decisions are based on this mutual understanding.
Patients are seen in clinics at both Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital. He specializes in adult and pediatric general otolaryngology.
Dr. Harkins treats patient with a wide variety of complaints and disorders including sinus disease, otitis media and externa, dizziness, as well as other general head and neck disorders.
