Research Laboratory
Plastic Surgery research addresses the needs of patients, physicians and other medical professionals by applying both basic science techniques and clinical tools to deliver innovative treatment modalities. The Department of Plastic Surgery maintains a research laboratory directed by Ji-Geng Yan, MD, with two full-time staff scientists. Dr. Yan has nearly 30 years of clinical and research experience in Plastic Surgery and Hand and Microsurgery.
The Plastic Surgery Research Laboratory works collaboratively with basic science laboratories including Cell Biology, Neurobiology & Anatomy and Biophysics to address issues such as treatment of vibration injury and nerve transfer.
