Collaborative Model

One major component of the Department of Population Health’s mission is to conduct population health and clinical and translational science research and policy analysis, often in collaboration with other departments and centers. We welcome sustained, mutually beneficial collaborations with faculty in other clinical and basic science departments who are undertaking research and programs in public and community health and clinical and translational sciences.

Population Health Research Interests

Division of Administration
Public Health faculty focus their research efforts in environmental health. Areas of emphasis include infectious diseases and airborne diseases.

 

 

Bioethics Research Interests

Division of Bioethics
Faculty members in the Center for the Study of Bioethics are interested in ethical issues related to technology development, genetics research and human experimentation. They are active in the development of public policy dealing with such issues as treatment termination, advance directives, long term care and other ethical issues facing society.

 

Biostatistics Research Interests

Division of Biostatistics
Division of Biostatistics faculty have interest in the development and application of statistical methods to medical research. Areas of emphasis include survival analysis, design of clinical trials, time series, spatial statistics, genetic statistics, stochastic modeling of disease processes, computational statistics and Bayesian methods.

 

Epidemiology Research Interests

Division of Epidemiology
Faculty in the Division of Epidemiology utilize the tools of clinical and environmental epidemiology to assess risk factors in disease and devise strategies for disease prevention and clinical intervention. Areas of emphasis include hypertension, cardiovascular disease, women’s health environmental health, respiratory disorders and cancer.
