Approximately 1,350 Medical College of Wisconsin physicians and more than 470 nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other health care practitioners provide adult patient care as the Medical College Physicians and pediatric patient care through Children’s Specialty Group, a joint venture with Children’s Hospital and Health System. The Medical College of Wisconsin physician practice includes doctors in every specialty and subspecialty of medicine.

Each year, Medical College of Wisconsin providers, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and psychologists care for more than 410,000 patients, representing more than 1.7 million patient visits.

Medical College of Wisconsin providers practice at three major affiliates - Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and the Zablocki VA Medical Center - and many other hospitals and clinics in the Milwaukee area.


Froedtert Hospital
is the primary adult hospital affiliate of the Medical College and is staffed by College physicians providing care in all medical specialties and subspecialties. Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin are at the forefront of new technology and care in many areas, including cancer, heart and vascular diseases, brain injury and disorders, spinal cord injury, transplant, communication disorders, digestive diseases, diabetes, orthopedics, urology and women’s health. Froedtert has the only adult Level 1 Trauma Center in eastern Wisconsin. The Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center offers the full range of treatment options for every type of cancer in an optimistic healing environment where cancer specialists work together as a team to care for patients.

Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, is the principal pediatric hospital affiliate of the Medical College. It has been named one of America’s Best Children’s Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Children’s Hospital is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons. The hospital has been redesignated a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, an honor that recognizes nursing excellence. Children’s Hospital is known nationally and internationally for many of its specialty programs including cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, cancer and blood disorders, aerodigestive programs and newborn and fetal care. Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center,a major hospital affiliate of the College since 1946. The VA Medical Center provides 168 acute care ­hospital beds.  Annually, it admits more than 8,000 patients and records more than 600,000 outpatient visits. It is one of the busiest and most comprehensive centers operated by the Depart­ment of Veterans Affairs. Approximately $10.8 million in research (funded ­primarily by the VA and the NIH) is ­conducted by College faculty at the Zablocki VA Medical Center. See information at www.milwaukee.va.gov.
