Approximately 1,200 Medical College of Wisconsin physicians provide adult patient care as the Medical College Physicians and pediatric patient care through Children’s Specialty Group, a joint venture with Children’s Hospital and Health System.  The Medical College of Wisconsin physician practice includes doctors in every specialty and subspecialty of medicine.

Each year, Medical College of Wisconsin physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and psychologists care for more than 390,000 patients, representing nearly 1.6 million  patient visits. 

Medical College of Wisconsin physicians practice at three major affiliates - Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and the Zablocki VA Medical Center - and many other hospitals and clinics in the Milwaukee area.
 

Froedtert Hospital

Froedtert Hospital is the primary adult hospital affiliate of the Medical College and is staffed by College physicians providing care in all medical specialties and subspecialties. Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin are at the forefront of new technology and care in many areas, including cancer, heart and vascular diseases, brain injury and disorders, spinal cord injury, transplant, communication disorders, digestive diseases, diabetes, orthopedics, urology and women’s health. Froedtert has the only adult Level 1 Trauma Center in eastern Wisconsin. The Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center offers the full range of treatment options for every type of cancer in an optimistic healing environment where cancer specialists work together as a team to care for patients. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin

Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, is the principal pediatric hospital affiliate of the Medical College. In 2009, Parents magazine rated Children’s Hospital third in the nation in its Best Children’s Hospital survey, and five Children’s specialty areas earned top 10 ratings:  Emergency Medicine - No. 2, Neonatal Care – No. 5, Pulmonary Care – No.7, Cardiac Care – No. 9, Cancer care – No. 10.  Children’s Hospital is named one of America’s Best Children’s Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.  Children’s Hospital is a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons. The hospital has been redesignated a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a national honor that recognizes nursing excellence.  Private, independent and not-for-profit, the hospital serves children and families from Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, northern Illinois and beyond.  For more information, see www.chw.org.

Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center

Medical College physicians are on staff at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, a major hospital affiliate of the College since 1946. The VA Medical Center provides 168 acute care ­hospital beds.  Annually, it admits 7,500 patients and records more than 600,000 outpatient visits. It is one of the busiest and most comprehensive centers operated by the Depart­ment of Veterans Affairs. Approximately $13.4 million in research (funded ­primarily by the VA and the NIH) is ­conducted by College faculty at the Zablocki VA Medical Center. The Medical College of Wisconsin has more than 1,100 physicians on its faculty providing patient care through the College's physician group practice composed of: Medical College Physicians, which consists of physicians providing care in every specialty of medicine; and Children's Specialty Group, which is a joint venture of the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children's Hospital and Health System and consists of specialty physicians providing care to children.

Medical College physicians also teach, conduct research, and work with faculty scientists to develop new ways of preventing and treating diseases. Indeed, patients of Medical College physicians have access to some of the finest, most advanced care available.

Froedtert Hospital and The Medical College of Wisconsin have joined together to offer patient care activities under the co-brand name of “Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin”. The Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Primary Care Clinics offer the best in close-to-home, personal care along with the expertise and resources of a leading academic medical center. Clinics are conveniently located in Brookfield, Menomonee Falls, Waukesha, Wauwatosa, Milwaukee, Sussex and West Allis and offer a complete range of primary care services for the entire family.

Medical College of Wisconsin physicians are on the staff of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Children's Medical Group (CMG) has more than 50 primary care pediatricians serving children out of 17 clinic sites in metropolitan Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin.
