The Asthma and Allergy Center at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin welcomes children and adults with a wide range of problems. Our staff includes five full time allergists and one part time allergist with international reputations in the fields of allergy, asthma and immunology. Other clinic staff includes a nurse practitioner and a nurse education specialist. The Asthma/Allergy Center is located on fourth floor of the adjacent Children's Health System Office Building in Wauwatosa, WI.            

We offer diagnoses and treatment for:
     -Hayfever (allergic rhinitis)
     -Sinusitis            
     -Asthma            
     -Hives            
     -Drug allergy
     -Latex allergy
     -Bee sting allergy
     -Recurrent infections
     -Eczema and contact dermatitis
     -Primary immune deficiency (non AIDS)
     -General allergy problems   

In conjunction with the Medical College of Wisconsin, allergists at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin constantly are researching better treatments, enabling them to stay on the cutting edge of the latest therapies.

What happens at a clinic visit?
At your first clinic visit, you will be seen by an allergist who will record a detailed medical history and perform a physical examination. Allergy tests may be done either by the skin method (a series of small skin pricks) or by a special blood test. If necessary, a breathing test to measure lung capacity and function will be performed.

Who will I see?
Our allergists are on the faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin. They work with and train fellows (pediatricians and internists who are training to become allergists/immunologists), pediatric residents, internal medicine residents and medical students. Since Children's Hospital is a teaching institution, fellows, residents and students can be involved with your care. The care they provide is supervised and coordinated by the faculty.

After the interview, examination and test results are available, we will discuss a detailed plan of treatment with you. We make every effort to complete this process at the first visit, which may take from one to two hours, depending on the complexity of the problem.
