July 7 - Michael F. McBride, MD ’92, FEL ’97, assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral medicine at MCW, psychiatrist at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee and commander in the United States Navy, understands what it means to sacrifice for the protection of freedom.

Dr. Jeff Kelly honored by Shepherd Express for his contributions to LGBT progress

June 23 - Jeffrey A. Kelly, PhD, professor of psychiatry and behavioral medicine and director of the Center for AIDS Intervention Research (CAIR), was recently honored by the Shepherd Express in its annual list of seven individuals who have made a contribution to LGBT progress in Milwaukee. Dr. Kelly was selected to receive the LGBT Progress Award for Health and HIV Awareness.

Study finds that education, good health, and positive emotional wellbeing contribute to improved memory health in older women

Mar. 1 - Researchers in the United States, led by Joseph S. Goveas, MD, at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in Milwaukee, report that maintenance of optimal memory health in women over of the age of 80 is positively impacted by higher education, overall good health, positive emotional wellbeing, and higher physical functioning.
