The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry division focuses on the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents and families. Clinic faculty, in collaboration with CHW psychologists and psychotherapists, provide diagnostic assessments, comprehensive outpatient treatment including individual and group therapies, psychopharmacological management, and second opinion consultations. Additionally, our relationship with one of the nation’s top pediatric hospitals, allows the division to focus on the psychiatric problems of patients with chronic medical conditions during their hospitalizations and in collaboration with other specialty clinics in the outpatient setting. An excellent, fully accredited child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship is offered that produces strong clinicians with ample opportunity for research and administrative exposure.

Geriatric psychiatry is a subspecialty of psychiatry that deals with the prevention, assessment and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders in older adults. Geriatric psychiatrists have the specialized knowledge and skills required to understand and address the biological, psychosocial, cultural and environmental aspects of neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders of late life, therefore, are uniquely qualified to integrate these complex factors in the assessment and management of these disorders. These neuropsychiatric disorders, if left unaddressed, substantially impede healthy aging and contribute to significant morbidity and premature mortality.

A flagship clinic and the only one-of-its-kind in Southeastern Wisconsin, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin outpatient Senior Health Memory and Mood Disorders Clinic (Geriatric Psychiatry) offers individualized neuropsychiatric assessment and outpatient treatment to patients aged 65 years and older. We provide our elderly patients with comprehensive ongoing cognitive and mental health care, including personalized treatment plans. We also provide one-time consultations; including second opinion consults by our board-certified geriatric psychiatrists. We accept self-referrals and referrals from the primary care and specialty care physicians within the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin system as well as from the community.
