Aurora Psychiatric Hospital

Aurora Psychiatric Hospital is a full-service psychiatric hospital, providing inpatient, outpatient, residential treatment, day treatment and school programs.  PGY I residents rotate on the child inpatient unit.  Additionally, PGY III residents rotate at the Dewey Center—a residential addiction treatment facility—during their addiction rotation. 

Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC)

This 505-bed hospital provides internal medicine, inpatient psychiatry, and addiction medicine training as well as outpatient neurology. The required geropsychiatry and PTSD rotations occur in the outpatient clinic here. Electives in inpatient, consultation/liaison, Neuropsychological testing, Telepsychiatry and Palliative Care are available, as well as research electives.

Columbia Hospital Psychotherapy Center (COL HPC)

On Milwaukee’s East Side, Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital offers a comprehensive outpatient experience at the Center for Psychotherapies. Columbia Hospital is host to the Wisconsin Psychoanalytic Institute and the Wisconsin Psychoanalytic Foundation,  through which residents can begin early admission program in anticipation of psychoanalytic training. 

Community Memorial Hospital (CMH)

Community Memorial Hospital is a 202-bed community hospital located in the northwest suburbs of Milwaukee, just ten minutes from campus. PGY III residents rotate for six weeks on the 16-bed inpatient psychiatry unit. Residents have commented on the breadth of their experience at CMH. 

Froedtert Hospital (FH)

Froedtert Hospital is a major teaching hospital of the Medical College of Wisconsin and provides the clinical base for the consultation/liaison rotation on the medical and surgical services and a geropsychiatry outpatient elective. Inpatient Neurology and Emergency Medicine rotation for first-year residents also occur at Froedtert Hospital.

Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division (MCBHD)

Located on the campus of the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, the Mental Health Division is one of the program’s primary training sites. It has extensive inpatient, outpatient, day hospital, emergency, and community support services. MCBHD houses the Psychiatric Crisis Service (PCS), a free-standing psychiatric emergency room.  MCBHD is the setting for several of the residency’s required and elective rotations. 

Rogers Memorial Hospital

Rogers Memorial Hospital offers nationally recognized, specialized programs known for their effectiveness in treating children, teens and adults with OCD and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, depression and other mood disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, as well as addiction.
