Mara Pheister, M.D. is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Residency Training in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Pheister is a native of Milwaukee who graduated with a BS in Molecular Biology at the University of Wisconsin Madison. She went on to complete medical school at UW before pursuing a psychiatric residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. She then attended additional seminars at the New York Psychoanalytic Association and was in private practice for five years before returning to academia at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Pheister is Board Certified in Psychiatry. Her academic and clinical interests include psychotherapy, resident and medical student education, women’s mental health issues. She sees patients at the Community Memorial Medical Commons and through the Consultation Liaison service at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital. Contact information: 414-955-8998.
