A snapshot of recent accomplishments in the development of regional medical education campuses in Central Wisconsin and Green Bay.
The Community Medical Education Program project team faculty and staff visited Northcentral Technical College and UW-Stevens Point Oct. 16 to discuss teaching opportunities at the MCW Central Wisconsin campus.
Student development, recruitment and admissions
MCW Director of Admissions Jennifer Haluzak attended several recruiting fairs and distributed informational materials about the programs in Green Bay and Central Wisconsin.
Graduate medical education
Program faculty and staff recently interviewed candidates for the Graduate Medical Education Work Group Leader position. Working closely with MCW’s health care system partners, this key position will aid in the development of residency programs in Northeast and Central Wisconsin.
MCW President and CEO John R. Raymond, Sr., MD, spoke and other MCW leaders participated in the Wisconsin Council on Medical Education and Workforce (WCMEW) conference Taking the Next Step: A Statewide Conference on Graduate Medical Education in Neenah, Wis., on Oct. 24.
On Nov. 11, MCW and Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals, Inc., (MCWAH) will meet with health care system partners in Green Bay to discuss opportunities for graduate medical education.
Campus dean candidate search
Two additional candidates were selected by the search committee in October to interview for the campus dean positions.
Campus deans are expected to begin work in Green Bay and Central Wisconsin in the first quarter of 2014.
