Cardiovascular fundraiser encourages bikers to Have a Heart

The Have a Heart Motorcycle Ride began in Menomonee Falls and ended in Thiensville, raising funds for the Medical College of Wisconsin Cardiovascular Center.

Nov., 08, 2012 College News - The fourth annual Have a Heart Motorcycle Ride, led by the Suburban Milwaukee HOG (Harley Owners Group) Chapter, raised $12,000 to support research in the Medical College of Wisconsin Cardiovascular Center this year.

Nearly 200 participants rallied to the cause at the summer event, which was sponsored by Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson® and featured a 70-mile scenic ride through the countryside of southeastern Wisconsin.

One out of every three deaths in Wisconsin is due to cardiovascular disease. More than 170 faculty physicians and scientists across many departments throughout the Medical College constitute the membership of the Cardiovascular Center.  They are focused on conducting research for the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of the large family of cardiovascular diseases, including diseases of the heart, lungs and kidneys, high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes.
