Doc Rock 2012 – Come watch members of the MCW community perform for a good cause

Oct. 26, 3012 College News - On Nov. 2, the second annual DocRock will be held to showcase the musical talents of members of the Medical College of Wisconsin community and help support Milwaukee neighborhood free health clinics and the people they serve. The event will be held at the Grace Center, 250 E. Juneau in Milwaukee, and run from 6-10 p.m.

Members of the MCW community who will be performing include:

  • Jasmine Lee and Christina Lin, co-presidents of Chordae Harmonae. Chordae Harmonae is MCW's only A Capella student group. This year they will be performing a medley of Michael Jackson's hits and The Beatles' song, "Imagine".

  • Jonathan Bock, MD, Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology & Communication Sciences, together with Christopher Plautz, and Sean Nolan, MD, who are also known as Bockenplautz.  Christopher is a vice president for marketing and facilities at Guardian Credit Union, and Dr. Nolan is an Emergency Medicine physician with Aurora Health (completed his residency at MCW).  Bockenplautz will perform their unique brand of Superior Acoustic Powerpop, with three and only three vital ingredients: acoustic instruments, tight harmonies, and gusto!

  • Linda Meurer, MD, MPH, Professor of Family and Community Medicine, who has performed over the years in musical theatre, as a wedding soloist, and as the lead vocalist in a band, "Dr. Linda and the Ultrasounds." For DocRock 2012, Dr. Meurer will perform a duet with friend Darthe Jennings, a singer/songwriter from the coast of Maine.  She was a clinical social worker by day, a musical theatre performer by night, and a lobsterwoman on spare weekends. Now performing with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Voice, Darthe is also working on her third recording of original songs as well as a children's book project.
