Dr. Edsel Salvana, Assistant Director of Philippines’ NIH, to visit April 22-23
April 16, 2013 College News - Edsel Salvana, MD, Assistant Director and Assistant Professor of Research at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the National Institutes of Health in the Philippines, will be visiting the Medical College of Wisconsin on April 22-23 to tour the facilities and share his expertise on infectious diseases with faculty, staff and students. Dr. Salvana completed his residency in internal medicine at MCW in 2005.
Dr. Salvana will give a presentation during the monthly statewide HIV Treaters’ Meeting, which will be held Monday, April 22, from 12-1 p.m. Additional information is available on the HIV Treaters’ Meeting flyer. (PDF)
He will also give a presentation during the Special Noon Report for residents on Tuesday, April 23, from 12-1 p.m. in the Froedtert Hospital Dean Roe Auditorium. His talk is titled “Parasitic Infection.”
Dr. Salvana is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, an attending physician at the Manila Doctors Hospital in Manila, Philippines, and an Adjunct Professor of Global Health at the University of Pittsburgh.
