Dr. Frank Pintar installed as President of the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine
Oct. 10, 2013 College News - Frank A. Pintar, PhD, Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center Neuroscience Research Laboratories, was installed as the President of the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) at the annual meeting in Quebec City, Canada on Sept. 23. This is a two-year appointment that was voted on by the membership of the society.
Dr. Pintar has previously served in various roles for the society including Treasurer. He also is a AAAM Fellow and has been actively involved as an instructor of AAAM biomechanics courses and given invited lectures at AAAM specialty conferences.
The AAAM has been in existence for 56 years serving engineers, physicians, epidemiologists and other researchers working together to decrease road traffic injuries across the globe. It is also responsible for the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) that is an internationally accepted tool for ranking injury severity and commonly employed in level-1 trauma centers.
