Dr. Frank Pintar receives Award of Merit from Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine
Oct. 29, 2012 College News - Frank A. Pintar, PhD, Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center Neuroscience Research laboratories, received the Award of Merit from the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) at their annual meeting in Seattle. The AAAM Award of Merit is the association’s highest honor and was given to Dr Pintar for his significant contributions to injury biomechanics and to the field of automotive safety.
The AAAM has been in existence for 55 years serving engineers, physicians, and researchers working together to decrease road traffic injuries across the globe. It is also responsible for the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) that is an internationally accepted tool for ranking injury severity and commonly employed in level-1 trauma centers.
