Dr. George Flynn, former Board of Trustee member and faculty member, dies April 10
April 12, 2013 College News - George F. Flynn, MD, a member of the Medical College of Wisconsin Board of Trustees from 1990-1996 and Emeritus Professor of Surgery, died April 10.
Dr. Flynn’s affiliation with MCW began in 1961, when he started as a clinical instructor in the Marquette University School of Medicine Department of Surgery. (The Marquette University School of Medicine later became MCW). He was promoted to Assistant Clinical Instructor in 1967, Associate Clinical Instructor in 1973, and Clinical Professor in 1984. He was named Emeritus Professor in 1994.
At one point in his career, Dr. Flynn served as the Chair of the Department of Surgery at Columbia Hospital.
Dr. Flynn received his BS from the University of Wisconsin in 1950, and his MS in physiology from Loyola University in 1953. He received his MD from the Marquette University School of Medicine in 1956.
