Sept. 06, 2012 College News - John Routes, MD, Professor of Pediatrics, Medicine, and Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, has been elected President of the Clinical Immunology Society for 2013-2014. Dr. Routes is currently a member of the society’s Executive Committee, and will assume the presidency in July.
In addition to being Chief of the Section of Allergy and Clinical Immunology in the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Routes is also a co-director of the CTSI of Southeastern Wisconsin and the driving force behind implementation of newborn screening for immune deficiencies in Wisconsin.
The Clinical Immunology Society is the premier professional organization representing the immunodeficiency field, and facilitates education, translational research and novel approaches to therapy in clinical immunology. It was started in 1986 and has a membership of more than 700.
