Jan. 18, 2013 College News - John A. Weigelt, MD, Milton & Lidy Lunda/Charles Aprahamian Professor of Trauma, Professor of Surgery, and Chief of Trauma and Critical Care Surgery, will be in the spotlight on Saturday, Jan. 26, participating in a National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin (NKFW) ballroom dance competition to pay tribute to the second chances that are made possible through the miracle of transplantation and the gift of organ donation. The event has been organized by the NKFW to promote awareness of Wisconsin’s new online donor registry.
Dr. Weigelt, who is also the Associate Dean for Clinical Quality, and Medical Director of the Joint Quality Office, will swing into the spotlight at 7:30 p.m. You can watch him “live” on http://www.ustream.tv/channel/spotlightonlife. “This event was created to shine the spotlight on the 2,000 men, women and children in Wisconsin who are still waiting for a life-saving transplant, and to draw attention to the critical need to increase organ, tissue and eye donation,” said Joanne MacInnes, event-co chair and Chair of the NKFW Board of Directors.
