Dr. Julie E. Tetzlaff appointed Assistant Dean of Postdoctoral Education
Aug. 08, 2014 College News - Julie E. Tetzlaff, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, has been appointed Assistant Dean of Postdoctoral Education by Ravi P. Misra, PhD, Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
The Assistant Dean for Postdoctoral Education serves as an advocate and resource for MCW postdoctoral researchers and graduate students, to complement and support the excellent research training by MCW faculty mentors. Dr. Tetzlaff will remain a member of the Department of Pathology, Division of Pediatric Pathology.
As Assistant Dean of Postdoctoral Education, she will continue the work of Interim Assistant Dean Neil Hogg, PhD, Professor of Biophysics and Associate Dean of Students in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and Phil Clifford, PhD, who established the Office of Postdoctoral Education in the Graduate School and served as Associate Dean from 2001-2013.
Dr. Tetzlaff earned her PhD in Neuroscience in 2005 from Loyola University, Chicago and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Neurology at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital. She is the scientific coordinator of both the Unexplained Infant Death Program at the Children's Research Institute and a Fogarty International Center/NIEHS grant establishing a GEO Health Hub in Peru Dr. Tetzlaff researches mechanisms and causes of SIDS.
