Dr. L. Kevin Hamberger invited to give talk on intimate partner violence

Dec. 19, 2013 College News - L. Kevin Hamberger, PhD, Professor of Family and Community Medicine, gave a plenary talk, Beyond education: Changing systems to facilitate healthcare-based intimate partner violence screening at the Intimate Partner Violence Screening and Counseling Research Symposium sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. 

The purpose of this invited symposium, held Dec. 9,  was to identify both state of knowledge on intimate partner violence screening and counseling, and to identify knowledge gaps in order to develop a national research agenda. 

Intimate partner violence screening and counseling has been recommended by the Institute of Medicine and the U.S. Preventive Services Task force.
