    Dr. Ramani Ramchandran selected to receive Distinguished Alumnus Award from Georgia Regents University

    March 06, 2013 College News - Ramani Ramchandran, PhD, Professor of Pediatrics (Developmental Biology), has been selected to receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Georgia Regents University (formerly called Medical College of Georgia) College of Graduate Studies.  The award is presented annually in recognition of eminent alumni who have made significant advances in the biomedical sciences and/or health care. Eligible nominees are graduates of Georgia Regents University College of Graduate Studies, or any department or school which preceded the formation of the College of Graduate Studies, who have exhibited the following:

    • Has made outstanding contributions to his/her discipline 
         
    • Promotes advancement and support of the biomedical sciences and/or health professions in research/practice toward the improvement of quality health care
       
    • Supports and participates in professional and community activities locally, nationally, or internationally
       
    • Demonstrates high professional standards and dedication
       
    • Provides consultation to colleagues in area of expertise
       
    • Contributes to professional publications
       
    • Utilizes current research/equipment in practice
       
    • Exhibits outstanding dedication to the advancement of the GRU College of Graduate Studies and furthering the education of its current students

    Dr. Ramchandran will receive the award during the university’s annual Alumni Weekend in April. As part of the honor, he will give a Distinguished Alumnus Seminar to the College of Graduate Studies.
