Dr. Tracy Wang discusses successful faculty recruitment and retention in AAMC publication
August 21, 2013 College News - Tracy S. Wang, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Surgery (Surgical Oncology) and Chief of Endocrine Surgery, contributed an article to the summer issue of GWIMS Watch, a publication of the Association of American Medical College’s Group on Women in Medicine and Science.
The summer issue of GWIMS Watch focuses on successful recruitment and retention of women faculty. Dr. Wang’s article, Confidence and the Glass Ceiling in Academic Surgery (PDF), discusses the importance of how faculty portray themselves and the impact this has on others.
Earlier this year, Dr. Wang was featured in the April issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, in a series titled, 6 Daring Women Reveal Where They Find Their Confidence.
The mission of the Group on Women in Medicine and Science (GWIMS) is to advance the full and successful participation of women in all roles within academic medicine, and to provide a venue for women to participate in advancing the AAMC mission to improve the nation’s health.
