Drs. Howard Jacob, Kimberly Strong to participate in panel discussion on genetic testing
April 10, 2013 College News - Howard J. Jacob, PhD, Warren P. Knowles Professor and Chair of Genetics and Director of the Human and Molecular Genetics Center, and Kimberly Strong, PhD, Assistant Professor of Bioethics and Medical Humanities in the Institute for Health and Society, will participate in a Thursday, April 18 4th Street Forum panel discussion titled, From Genetics Testing to Genomic Mapping: Red Flag or Green Light? The panel will debate: It's an exciting time for genomic research and the possibility that each of us can discover our own DNA roadmap. But are their dangers too? What are the issues we should consider before moving ahead?
The panel discussion will take place from 12-1 p.m. in the MCW Alumni Center and be taped for playback on TV. Everyone is invited to attend the live taping.
The panel discussion will be broadcast on Milwaukee Public Television channel 36.1 on Friday, April 19, at 9 p.m., and on Sunday, April 21, at 9 a.m. The forum will also run online on MPTV’s Website.
