Endocrine Surgery Update planned for May 10-11
April 18, 2013 College News - The annual Medical College of Wisconsin and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Endocrine Surgery Update is scheduled for Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11, in The Medical College of Wisconsin Alumni Center.
The multi-disciplinary course will focus on current approaches to the management of disorders of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands, and is targeted toward endocrine surgeons, general surgeons, endocrinologists, primary care physicians and other allied health professionals.
Upon completion of the event, participants should be able to:
Discuss the treatment of benign thyroid disease
Outline the issues of endocrine disease in the pregnant patient
Discuss the treatment options in the management of well-differentiated thyroid cancers
Describe the evaluation and options for localization studies and surgical management of primary hyperthyroidism
Outline the evaluation and management of functional tumors of the adrenal gland.
